New Zealand imposes sanctions on 18 Russia’s largest banks
MOSCOW, Apr 19 (PRIME) -- New Zealand has imposed sanctions on 18 Russia’s largest banks and financial organizations over the situation in Ukraine, Foreign Minister Nanaia Mahuta said in a statement on Tuesday.
The sanctions were imposed on the central bank, Alfa-Bank, Gazprombank, Sberbank, state development bank VEB.RF, and other banks.
Mahuta said that the sanctioned institutions account for around 80% of the combined assets of the Russian banking sector.
